Anna Heyes

As a little girl I was inspired to create with clay, minature scenes from nature incorporating flowers, vines and logs in which I sold along side my mothers pottery at the local weekend craft market. Little did I know that this would one day lead me to creating with flowers and other plant life in the real sense, gaining inspiration from the colours, form and texture that mother - nature provides.

During my career as a florist I have gained my Diploma with New Zealand Professional Florists, under the guidance of two wonderful designers, Lynley Wilson and David Anyon, to whom I am very grateful.  I have attended many inspiring floral design workshops in Europe, the highlight of those being travelling to Germany for 5 days of intensive learning and designing with the awe inspiring world renowned florist Gregor Lersch.  I have worked for leading florists in New Zealand as well as England, including the well known and inspiring Jane Packer Flowers in London.  This has given me great exposure to a variety of events and the opportunity to design flowers for all occasions.  More recently I have enjoyed passing on my knowledge and love of flowers, tutoring at the local School of Floristry.

Inheriting my mother's love of flowers, her love of gardening, and her passion for creating is no doubt what led me into the colourful world of floristy, and to her I am forever greatful.

Creating

Inspired by the beauty of nature, and passionate about creating, I believe that flowers can create beautiful moments in our everyday life.  Nature is a common link between us all,  something that we can all relate to, and something we should all treasure.
